Storm Éowyn, the first named storm of 2025, is wreaking havoc across the UK, with winds up to 100mph in some coastal areas. A red weather warning has been advised in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, forcing schools to close and public transport being delayed, or even cancelled. Disruption of hospitals and supermarkets have been reported, as the Met Office has urged people to stay home.
Fortunately, Hampshire has avoided the worst of the storm. While there were gusty winds and heavy rain on Sunday, the week will calm down significantly, with only light rain and a moderate breeze expected. Students of Herne can ensure that Storm Éowyn is unlikely to cause any major disruption in our area.
